Care of the Professional Voice

Care of the professional voice is a major activity of the Voice & Swallowing Center. We employ the latest technology, the newest medical information and a management approach to bring the professional's voice, back to his/her maximum voice use in the most expedient manner possible.

Diagnosis of Voice Disorders Using Video Stroboscopy

Video Stroboscopy is a technique that allows slow motion examination of the vocal fold in order to determine symmetry of movement, motion of the vocal folds and closure patterns of the vocal folds at various pitches and intensities of phonation. Treatment of Chronic Cough: Paradoxical Vocal Fold Motion

This is a disorder of breathing and voice use. There are many causes for Paradoxical Vocal Fold Motion and it is often mistaken as asthma. Treatment is called respiratory retraining and employs a series of graded breathing and vocalizing exercises to re-establish the rhythm of breathing and control of the voice.
